As the new administration and congress continue to forge ahead on their articulated and emerging priorities and decision makers at the state and local levels consider how to address rising costs and threats like the opioid epidemic, the evidence produced by health services researchers takes on a new urgency. It is critical now more than ever that our members and those in our field find their voice and share their work.

In a few short days, AcademyHealth Annual Research Meeting (ARM) attendees will be touching down in New Orleans. At this year’s ARM, we are asking attendees to explore the question, "Why do you do health services research/health policy?" and share their thoughts and responses at the AcademyHealth booth, located at the Strand Foyer on Level 2.

In anticipation of ARM, we’ve asked AcademyHealth staff to explain their “why?” These individuals each offer a unique take on the value of health services research and health policy.

Below, AcademyHealth President and CEO, Dr. Lisa Simpson shares her why:

AcademyHealth staff responses will be on display throughout ARM at the AcademyHealth booth, stop by to hear their response and share yours.

See you in New Orleans!
