Assistant Professor
University of Maryland/Health Services Admistration
College Park, Maryland

The School of Public Health at the University of Maryland, College Park invites applications and nominations for a tenure track assistant professor position in the Department of Health Services with the appointment effective as of August, 2009. Tenured faculty are responsible for teaching, research and service. This position will have the specific responsibilities of developing health services administration and/or health policy research and obtaining outside funding to support this research; developing and teaching graduate courses, advising graduate students, and supervising graduate research projects in a newly developing program in health services administration; and assisting with accreditation. The candidate must possess an earned doctorate in health services administration, public policy, health policy, public health, health services research, health management, business or related areas and experience conducting applied research relevant to health services administration and policy. He or She must have the demonstrated capacity in quantitative research as well as experience with state and/or federal legislative health services policy and/or health management issues is preferred. Teaching skills, strong communication skills, and ability to collaborate with colleagues and project researchers are necessary. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
