Electronic clinical quality measures (eCQMs) provide an opportunity to objectively evaluate care practices and set goals to improve value-based care. Daniella Meeker, Ph.D., the Director of Research Informatics at the University of Southern California, presented the goals and findings from her collaborative project “Distributed Networks for Electronic Quality Measure Development and Evaluation,” including a demonstration of the Research Network software, which she and her team developed. Dr. Meeker addressed ways the research and measure development communities can work together to develop new measures that are potentially more efficient, valid and useful, and can also support a more sustainable infrastructure for measure development and research.

Learning Objectives

During this webinar, participants:

  • Learned how to operationalize the learning health system by shrinking the “17-year Odyssey” between evidence generation and PCOR adoption;
  • Discussed collaborative connections between stakeholders to eliminate current barriers in the use of eCQMs;
  • Learned about new opportunities to participate in the collaborative development of new measures that are more fully integrated into research, evaluation, and policy.
