Dr. Erlyn Rachelle K. Macarayan is Research Associate at the Harvard Global Health Institute (HGHI). She leads various research projects, particularly on quality of care and health systems and has contributed to many burden of disease studies. Prior to HGHI, she worked at Ariadne Labs, the Lancet Global Commission on High Quality Health Systems, and the Yale University Center for Infectious Disease Modeling and Analysis. She did her PhD at the University of Queensland in Australia and also pursued her second doctorate at the University of the Philippines. She was also a consultant for WHO Europe and Gavi in Switzerland, and the Health Systems Global in Georgia. She also worked as a policy staff officer of the Office of the President of the Philippines. She has been recognized for her work as a Gro Brundtland awardee (Taiwan), Young Leader in Global Health (South Africa), and International Student of the Year (Australia), among others.
