How you’ll contribute:
The Accounting Associate will support numerous grants management and accounting activities that promote strong fiscal management that ultimately leads to funding to support AcademyHealth’s mission. This position involves working with staff and third parties in a collegial and professional manner.
Specifically, this role will work with our grants and accounting team to:
- Support Pre and Post Award Grant Management Activities:

- Initiate set-up of new projects/grants in the accounting system Sage 100
- Facilitate and track funder grants/contracts and subcontractor contracts
- Draft and submit grant/contract invoicing
- Assist with pre award information gathering
- Conduct day-to-day accounting and month-end accounting activities:

- Cash management

- Identify and record EFT payments and prepare entries
- Review and reconcile credit card entries and supporting documentation
- Maintain report/batch organization
- Update cashflow workbook

- Accounts receivables

- Update the grants/contracts accounts receivable aging report
- Assist with conference sponsorship invoicing and tracking

- Month-end close

- Monitor process and accuracy of clearing batch entries
- Draft and record month-end general ledger and job cost entries as assigned
- Assist with budget reporting and financial statement preparation

Desired Qualifications:
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree from accredited college/university or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Two to 4 years of relevant work experience in a non-profit/association setting.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and maintain a system of tracking, monitoring and prioritizing tasks and projects.
- Detail oriented with a commitment to quality, prioritizing, and meeting deadlines.
- Self-starter with a “can-do” attitude and willingness to pitch in as needed to do what it takes to provide high-quality products and services.
- Able to work both independently and in teams, ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and maintain a system of tracking, monitoring, and prioritizing tasks, and projects. Advanced Excel and data entry skills.
- Excellent analytic, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Working knowledge of Sage 100 and/or Fonteva CRM is a bonus.

The salary range is $55,000- $62,000 and is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
