You:  An experienced marketer with a solid understanding of marketing principles. We are looking for a data-driven communicator with 3-5 years’ experience implementing targeted and measurable marketing campaigns, from the planning and creative stages through to launch and reporting. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of creativity and analytical skills. An understanding of the principles of market research to inform data-driven campaigns is essential. Experience with Salesforce CRMs and digital products would be advantageous. Familiarity with health care issues and policy is beneficial, but not required. The ideal candidate asks questions like, “what do we know about our members and their needs; what information do we need to make better decisions about engaging them; and what can we learn from the ways people interact with us now?”

How you’ll contribute:

The Associate, Marketing & Analytics, will be the primary marketing support for the AcademyHealth Membership department and also lead marketing for AcademyHealth’s growing professional development offerings portfolio. The position will work with internal data to provide insights and identify opportunities to increase our membership numbers as well as our engagement rates, leading to better retention of both individual and organizational members. Our team is working to transform our data collection, management, and synthesis strategy to increase our success and we envision this team member being central to that effort. In addition to membership marketing, this position will lead our marketing efforts for a new and growing portfolio of professional development and education offerings.

We are building a training program to help our community achieve their goals. The associate reports to the Senior Director of Communications and Marketing, and works closely with the Marketing Manager, Digital Communications Associate, and Art Director.


  • Work closely with our Membership team and lead the marketing efforts for AcademyHealth membership, including recruitment and retention of both individual and organizational members
  • Manage marketing campaigns for AcademyHealth’s new and evolving professional development offerings as well as our long-standing orientations and webinars.
  • Write and edit marketing materials, including website, email, collateral, and social media content.
  • Collaborate closely with IT and membership teams to review internal data and learn more about our various audiences, their diverse needs, and purchasing and engagement patterns.  
  • Research and build new and diverse audience and marketing contact lists.
  • Work with IT and the Marketing Manager to increase our use of automation and lead generation and ensure data integrity and list management for the marketing and communications team.
  • Assist with the promotion of AcademyHealth’s suite of conferences, as needed.

Desired Qualifications

  • Understands principles of data-driven marketing and the connection between data analytics and marketing strategy.
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills, creativity with great problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of data from various sources including websites, social media, surveys, search engines and paid media; along with an aptitude to clearly articulate findings into actionable recommendations and strategies.
  • Demonstrates excellent organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to manage multiple projects and shift priorities as needed.  
  • Thinks proactively and takes initiative.
  • Loves being part of a dynamic, collaborative team.  
  • Communicates well in person and in writing, creates compelling copy and loves a good marketing visual.
  • Familiar with common database, analytics, and collaboration software.
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or data science preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

The salary range is $60,000- $65,000 and is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
