Overview

The Women and Gender Health Interest Group (WGHIG) is composed of researchers, clinicians, policymakers, and students interested in understanding how gender and women-specific issues affect health services delivery, access, cost, and quality. The WGHIG creates opportunities for exchanging knowledge, building researchers skills, networking, and disseminating research findings to inform both policy and clinical decision-making. Members of this group share interests in areas including women's health, maternal health, reproductive health, and LGBTQ health.

Mission

The Women and Gender Health Interest Group is committed to improving the quality, efficiency, effectiveness, outcomes of care and the health status of women and men of all ages, races, ethnicities, sexual orientations, and socioeconomic status. We seek to build a dynamic community among those who share common goals in understanding how gender and women-specific issues affect health services delivery, access, cost, and quality.

Advisory Committee

Each Interest Group (IG) is led by a dedicated group of volunteers who shape the information provided to IG members each year. The Advisory Committee is selected on an annual basis with nominations opening in June of each year. Check out this year’s Women and Gender Health IG Advisory Committee.
