Shriram directs NORC’s Applied Health Economics program area, wherein he leads multidisciplinary teams to monitor and evaluate innovative approaches to health care delivery & payment. He has over 20 years of experience in health services research, policy analysis, and health care management. Shriram focuses on studying the consequences and cost of healthcare, by applying rigorous quantitative methods to secondary and primary data. His expertise in program evaluation, outcomes research, and economic impact analyses stem from over a decade of experience leading multiple projects for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Shriram currently leads the quantitative evaluation of ACO Realizing Equity, Access, and Community Health (REACH) model for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, after completing the quantitative evaluation of Next Generation Accountable Care Organization (ACO) Model. Previously he led the assessment of impacts for 41 Health Care Innovation Award grantees focusing on individuals with disability and other complex conditions. In these evaluations, Shriram integrates innovative quasi-experimental study designs, with exhaustive data analytic methods, to provide important insights to decision makers on the success and scalability of proposed policies within the context of a complex healthcare system.
