Each year, I say health services research is more critical than ever before, and each year those words hold more weight. This month alone, we have seen three proposals that – were they to come to fruition – would have a very direct impact on our work in health services research (HSR): the White House’s spending proposals for fiscal year 2017, the president’s “skinny budget” for fiscal year 2018, and the Republicans’ American Health Care of Act of 2017.
As we continue to recognize health services research’s increasingly relevant place in the world of Washington, I wanted to begin weekly advocacy updates for our members – to let you know what we’re hearing and to provide you with our “read” on the state of affairs.
