John O'Malley is a second year Ph.D. student in the University of Michigan joint program in Health Infrastructures & Learning Systems & Scientific Computing, with research focusing on the implementation and analysis of dental diagnostic codes to facilitate oral health care quality measurement. John has over ten years of experience with oral health data analysis and recently graduated with a masters in health informatics from the University of Michigan. Currently a biostatistician at the CareQuest Institute for Oral Health, John is also the founder of Positive Sum Health Informatics, a consulting company providing oral health data analysis for non-profit organizations. John served in the U.S. Peace Corps in Tonga and Liberia and continues to travel when he can.
