This annual Meeting of Members webinar provides AcademyHealth members with a unique glimpse of 2017—based on the progress made in 2016.
In this webinar, featured speaker, Nir Menachemi reflects on the highlights of the HSR Workforce Conference. Board Chair Darrell Gaskin begins he webinar by providing participants with an overview on behalf of AcademyHealth’s officers. Following his remarks, Dr. Lisa Simpson discusses the landscape for health services research and how AcademyHealth navigates the climate in Washington, D.C.
Craig Thornton, treasurer, reviews the organization's finances and activities from the year. Robert St. Peter and Emily Holubowich discuss the implications of a new administration on the health services research field. Angelica Rodriguez reviews membership information and summarize how AcademyHealth acts to meet member needs.
Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of the session, participants will be able to:
- Understand how AcademyHealth is responding to the changing environment to better meet the needs of its members and the field;
- Become familiar with the activities AcademyHealth has conducted over the year and how they affect the membership experience; and
- Obtain an overview of the recent invitational Conference on the HSR workforce, including new research on the composition of the current workforce as well as employment and training trends affecting the future workforce.
