Overview

This 90-minute webinar featured two EvidenceNOW grantees who shared their experiences implementing nonsurgical interventions for urinary incontinence (UI) within primary care settings. The session explored key components of implementation, such as provider education, feedback loops, and the integration of care pathways into clinic workflows. Attendees gained insights from front-line implementers on the benefits and challenges of these interventions, as well as strategies to address limited external incentives. Publicly available resources and tools developed by the MUI grantees were shared for adoption and adaptation by other practices. Through this initiative, AHRQ aimed to bridge the gap between evidence and practice in women’s UI care.

Learning Objectives

By the end of the webinar participants:

  • Learned about recent progress in the EvidenceNOW: Managing Urinary Incontinence initiative, including publicly available resources.
  • Explored primary care-based implementation approaches to urinary incontinence interventions in the form of grantee-delivered case studies.
  • Understood how provider education, feedback loops, and care pathway integration can enhance the screening and treatment of urinary incontinence within real-world primary care settings.
  • Identified challenges and solutions for implementing urinary incontinence interventions in diverse primary care contexts, with insights from front-line implementers.
