Overview

This webinar explored cancer care quality among people living with HIV in the United States, integrating community perspectives with research evidence. The session began with a discussion between Jessica Y. Islam and Topher Larkin, a Community Outreach Specialist with Moffitt’s Office of Community Outreach and Engagement, focusing on community initiatives supporting HIV and cancer prevention and the critical role of community engagement in research. Dr. Islam  presented findings from her ongoing research examining how adverse area-level social determinants of health and HIV-related stigma influence cancer treatment receipt and quality among people with HIV. Drawing from qualitative and quantitative data, the session will highlight actionable insights for improving equitable cancer care delivery and informing multi-level interventions.
