Overview
AcademyHealth is committed to building and sustaining a vibrant and diverse community to drive high impact, equitable research. To further support our diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts, the AcademyHealth Scholarship Fund for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (the Fund) will provide direct financial support to engage individuals from historically marginalized, racialized, and/or excluded backgrounds in AcademyHealth programs and events, and related professional development opportunities.
Scholars may use Fund awards to support their membership dues, AcademyHealth event and online learning registration, travel to AcademyHealth events, or travel to and participation at third party events in support of AcademyHealth programs and initiatives. The Fund is designed to augment other available scholarships offered in conjunction with the Diversity Scholars Program or other AcademyHealth offerings (i.e., Hersh Student Scholarship, Interest Group scholarships, etc.).
The Fund was established in the spring of 2023 in conjunction with events being planned to commemorate the leadership of Dr. Lisa Simpson, as she prepares to step down from her role at AcademyHealth in 2024. Those who wish to honor Dr. Lisa Simpson are invited to donate to this Fund to continue her commitment to advancing the careers of young people from historically marginalized backgrounds.
Contribute to the Fund
In order to carry out our vision of making the Fund available to scholars for years to come, AcademyHealth encourages our community, including individual and organizational members, to make contributions. By contributing to the Fund, you will provide scholars with exposure and opportunities to launch their careers in HSR and/or amplify their impact. Your donation to the Fund will reinforce the commitment of our members to building a diverse, well-trained workforce to tackle some of the most challenging issues in health care delivery and health policy. Your contribution will be tax deductible.
Make your contribution today to support the professional development and futures of our scholars!
