Washington D.C. (1/26/2017)—AcademyHealth announced today the recipients of the Alice S. Hersh Student Scholarship and the Presidential Scholarship for the AcademyHealth Institute on Advocacy and Public Policy. These scholarships provide students and early career researchers with financial support to attend the organization’s 2017 National Health Policy Conference (NHPC), where they will have a chance to learn about health care and effective strategies for communicating with policymakers.
“The NHPC undoubtedly benefits from the participation of students and early career health services researchers, who bring a unique perspective on the nation’s emerging and critical health policy issues and priorities,” said AcademyHealth President and CEO Dr. Lisa Simpson. “This year’s outstanding scholars will have the opportunity to engage in discussion with leaders in health services research and public policy on the impact of the new administration and Congress on the nation’s health care agenda.”
