You: A current or recent graduate student seeking hands-on experience in program evaluation, qualitative research, and report writing to inform a high-impact fellowship program. You are confident, motivated, self-directed, and interested in health services research, public health, and/or evaluation.
How you’ll contribute:
- During this internship, you will provide substantive and program support for AcademyHealth’s Public Policy Fellowship program.
- Work alongside members of the Health Services Research Innovation, Inclusion, and Impact (HIII) team to advance the mission and objectives of AcademyHealth through program evaluation and communication.
- Design and develop a survey to assess the impact of the Public Voices Fellowship on career opportunities, professional trajectory, and personal development from the first two cohorts.
- Schedule and conduct individual interviews with Fellows to gather qualitative data on how the Fellowship program impacted their professional and interpersonal lives.
- Analyze survey and interview data to identify key themes, trends, and insights about the Fellows' experiences.
- Synthesize findings into a comprehensive report that outlines the key takeaways and provides actionable recommendations for program improvements to inform the next cohort.
- Review and summarize publications or projects produced by fellows in Cohort 2, assessing how these outputs reflect their experience and growth during the fellowship.
- Provide administrative support as needed.
Desired Qualifications:
- A current student in a relevant science, health, or related degree graduate program, including but not limited to MPH, MPP, or MA, or a recent graduate of one of these programs.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Experience in conducting surveys.
Compensation:
- The intern will be paid $20/hour.
Duration:
- Start and end dates are flexible but would prefer an intern from January to April for at least 100 hours.
- This internship can be completed remotely or in the DC area.
