Abigail Ferrell is an attorney and public health analyst with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC’s) Public Health Law Program (PHLP). She serves as PHLP’s team lead for partnerships and communications and is the editor in chief of CDC’s Public Health Law News (News), a monthly internet newsletter highlighting current events and case law in public health, in continuous circulation for more than 16 years and with more than 130,000 subscribers. In addition to her work with the News, Ms. Ferrell administers the state and local public health counsel listservs, liaises with the ASTHO and NACCHO legal work groups, and coordinates many of PHLP’s strategic planning activities.
Ms. Ferrell is a member of the Georgia State Bar. She has a JD from Georgia State University College of Law, an MPA from Georgia State University’s Andrew Young School of Policy Studies, and an ABJ from the University of Georgia’s Grady College of Journalism.
