Dr. Annis is a health services researcher and Assistant Professor in the College of Nursing at Michigan State University. Her research focuses on the measurement and examination of interdisciplinary care and the distribution of healthcare service delivery across multiple clinician roles. Dr. Annis has enjoyed long careers as an acute care R.N., an epidemiologist, and healthcare analyst. She has contributed to the development and evaluation of multiple clinician-focused healthcare initiatives at both state and federal levels. Her work at the VA included the identification of clinician-specific care delivery models in primary care and inpatient settings. Dr. Annis’ current research investigates ongoing trends in care delivery and team-based care, particularly for older adult populations with chronic conditions. She is currently exploring how analytic methods can be utilized to ascertain patterns of care delivery and how measurement approaches can be better optimized to improve sensitivity to services provided by nurses.
