Dr. Brittany Brown-Podgorski is an Assistant Professor of Health Policy and Management at the University of Pittsburgh School of Public Health. Dr. Brown-Podgorski completed her PhD in Health Policy and Management from the Indiana University Richard M. Fairbanks School of Public Health. She was an NHLBI T32 postdoctoral fellow, with a concentration in racial disparities in cardiovascular disease, at Dell Medical School at the University of Texas at Austin. Her research combines multiple sources, such as state legal data, administrative data, and surveillance data, and utilizes advanced policy analysis and quasi-experimental techniques to better understand how state policy environments influence the pathways between economic disadvantage, access to health-related resources, and cardiovascular risk, outcomes, and disparities among Black adults.
