Dr. Carl Johnson is a Director in the Center for Observational and Real World Evidence at Merck with a focus on digital health data policy and its use to generate real world evidence. He also chairs the Public Policy Committee (2023-2025) at the American Medical Informatics Association (AMIA).
Dr. Johnson completed his pediatrics training at Boston Children’s Hospital and has held faculty positions at Harvard Medical School, the University of California at San Francisco, The Ohio State University, and The Mount Sinai School of Medicine. He has worked as a physician executive at Cerner Corporation and Optum.
