Duane Elliott Reynolds is the newly appointed president and CEO of the Institute for Diversity and Health Equity.  He will lead the Institute’s efforts to reduce health care inequities, and advance diversity and inclusion across the health care field.

Recently, he served as chief for diversity and inclusion and director of consulting at Optum/UnitedHealth Group by way of acquisition of the Advisory Board Company.
Under his leadership, the organization launched new practice areas focused on addressing health inequities, the social determinants of health and inclusion within health care payer and provider organizations. He also spearheaded the development of the company’s LGBTQ business resource group.
Previous experience also includes Johns Hopkins Medicine in Baltimore and Emory Healthcare in Atlanta.

Reynolds was recognized as a “Healthcare Up and Comer” by Modern Healthcare in 2018.  

Reynolds holds a BPH from Indiana University and a MHA from The Ohio State University.
