Elisheva Danan, M.D., M.P.H. is a primary care physician and health services researcher at the Minneapolis VA Center for Care Delivery and Outcomes Research. As a Minnesota Learning Health Systems Scholar, her current work focuses on developing and implementing trauma-sensitive, patient-centered primary and preventive healthcare practices for women who have experienced sexual assault. Her expertise includes women’s health, sexual trauma, cancer screening, smoking cessation, and sex and gender reporting in research. 

Dr. Danan attended medical school at UC Davis and received her Master of Public Health in Community Health Sciences from UCLA. Following internal medicine residency and chief residency at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, she completed a health services research fellowship at the Minneapolis VA. 

Dr. Danan currently serves as the Minneapolis site lead for the VA Women’s Health Practice-Based Research Network, is co-director of the Minneapolis VA Advanced Fellowship in Health Services Research, and is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Minnesota.
