Erin A. Strong is currently a resident in general surgery at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, WI. Her clinical research interests include surgical outcomes in gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine tumors, peritoneal carcinomatosis, and skin and soft tissue tumors. Additional research interests include physician leadership development, the advancement of underrepresented minorities in academic medicine, and the application of management principles to bolster learning health systems in optimizing patient care, physician well-being, and health system performance.
As a resident, she has served on multiple department and hospital-level committees for Patient Safety and Quality, and the health system’s Medical Executive Committee. Research during her fellowship with the MCW Collaborative for Health Delivery Science focused on the adoption of a new EMR-based clinical surveillance system among frontline staff. She Is also an active member of multiple surgical societies including the Surgical Outcomes Club, Association for Academic Surgery, and the Society for Black Academic Surgeons.
