George Koshy, D.O., M.P.H., is an Emergency Medicine Research Fellow in the Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. He is concurrently pursuing a Master of Science in Health Policy Research (MSHP) with a concentration in Healthcare Quality and Safety through the Center for Healthcare Improvement and Patient Safety (CHIPS) at Penn. He completed his emergency medicine residency at Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine, where he served as Academic Chief Resident, and holds an MPH in Epidemiology and Biostatistics from Drexel University. Dr. Koshy's research focuses on emergency department access, health equity, and the structural forces driving hospital and ED closures in socially vulnerable communities. Dr. Koshy's long-term interests lie at the intersection of emergency medicine, health policy, and operational leadership. He is committed to building health systems that are more equitable, resilient, and responsive to the communities most at risk when emergency care disappears.
