Joseph Tu is an Angeleno and proud son of Taiwanese immigrants. He recently graduated with a doctorate in clinical psychology from Eastern Michigan University and is now a VA Advanced Psychology Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the South Central Mental Illness Research, Education, and Clinical Center in Houston, Texas. With the VA, Joseph has continued training in quality improvement, dissemination and implementation science, and various methodological skills. His interests are to improve patient engagement for rural Native Veterans and to streamline care coordination between VA and community care through artificial intelligence tools. He hopes to automate burdensome, unpaid labor to support more accessible provision of high-quality mental health care for all.
