Kathryn Kennedy is a fourth-year doctoral student in the department of Health Behavior at Gillings School of Global Public Health, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Her research focuses on the role of implementation science, specifically clinical champions, in pediatric and adolescent health services, with a focus on cancer prevention and control and HPV vaccination. Prior to starting graduate school, Kathryn gained clinical experience working directly with patients and their families accessing healthcare as a pediatric medical scribe and project manager for cystic fibrosis and asthma clinical trials. Through her work, she hopes to improve healthcare quality and access among pediatric and adolescent patients and their families using interdisciplinary collaboration and the development and evaluation of behavioral interventions. Kathryn Kennedy's long-term career goal is to conduct research, teach, and mentor students at an academic institution with a focus on implementation science and pediatric health services.
