Lauryn Walker is the Chief Strategy Officer for the Virginia Center for Health Innovation (VCHI), a public-private partnership established to develop, implement, and evaluate healthcare innovation in Virginia. Prior to joining VCHI, Lauryn served as the Interim Chief of Population Health and Senior Advisor to the Chief Actuary and Chief Strategy Officer for North Carolina Medicaid, where she supported efforts aimed at integrating behavioral health and physical health. Lauryn also served as the Senior Advisor for Chief Deputy and Chief Health Economist at Virginia Medicaid. Prior to working directly with states, Lauryn conducted research on Medicaid Section 1115 waivers, Medicaid expansion and financial incentive programs. She also served as a health fellow for the U.S. House of Representatives Minority Leader. She earned her BSN and MPH from Johns Hopkins University and her PhD in Health Policy and Research from Virginia Commonwealth University
