Lindsay Welton, MD is a general surgery resident at the University of Minnesota and a dedicated research resident in the Division of Colon and Rectal Surgery. Her clinical and academic interests center on geriatric surgery, colorectal disease, and perioperative care. She is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Medical Gerontology at the University of Southern California and serves as a Minnesota Learning Health Systems Fellow and an Advanced Fellow in Geriatrics at the Minneapolis VA. Dr. Welton is the lead resident on a multi-institutional, NIA-funded randomized trial focused on preoperative advance care planning in older adults. She is passionate about health services research, surgical quality, and helping to foster a strong presence for surgical trainees within AcademyHealth and SPIG.
