Dr. Matt Hayat is an associate professor in Epidemiology and Biostatistics for the School of Public Health at Georgia State University. His research interests include clinical trials, biostatistics education, and interdisciplinary collaboration and consulting.

Before coming to Georgia State, he was on faculty at Johns Hopkins University and Rutgers University. His statistics education includes a master’s degree in statistics from Northern Illinois University and a doctoral degree in biostatistics from the Medical College of Wisconsin.

Dr. Hayat has more than 19 years of experience providing biostatistics support for a host of health-related research studies in a wide array of health and disease areas. His previous positions included work as a Biostatistician with the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and as Biostatistician with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). He has experience working on many research projects in collaboration with physicians, nurse scientists, statisticians, epidemiologists, and other healthcare workers and researchers.
