Naiya Patel, M.P.H., B.D.S., is currently pursuing her doctoral degree at the University of Louisville, Department of Health Management and Systems Sciences, and is a CHOT research assistant. She has diverse work experience in Pharmaceuticals as well as in higher education as a Feasibility Specialist intern and Graduate Research Assistant. She also served as a general dental practitioner in the clinical setting for a couple of years. Naiya graduated with an Academic Excellence award in Master of Public Health from Long Island University Brooklyn and is an honored member of the Alpha Eta honorary society. Her goal is to contribute to the research community while also conducting research projects. She strives to begin a student chapter of AcademyHealth at the University of Louisville School Of Public Health and Information Sciences. Naiya’s research interests are health economics and outcomes research, policies regulating tobacco, alternative tobacco products nationally and globally. She has published in reputable journals like Journal of Dental Education published by American Dental Education Association and Pedagogy in Health Promotion by Sage Publishers. She continues to serve as reviewer for reputable journals Published by Sage publishers, Wolters Kluwer and guest reviewer for The BMJ. Naiya is the only invited Editorial Board member representing United States for Indonesian Journal of Health Administration (JAKI). Currently she is a student member of AcademyHealth and ISPOR.
