Nila Uthirasamy is a second-year medical student at Weill Cornell Medical College. She graduated from Rutgers University as a Public health major with certificates in Health Disparities and Health Policy and is a fellow of New Jersey’s Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities program. Her prior research used qualitative and community-engaged research methods to address system-level factors impacting children and their families through intervention implementation. She is currently investigating the association of structural racism and cardiovascular health inequities among Black and White Americans. As a future clinician, she aims to keep health equity at the center of her work through direct clinical care, policy advocacy, and research.
