Piaopiao Li, MPharm, PhD, is an Instructor in the Department of Family and Preventive Medicine at Emory University School of Medicine and a VA-affiliated researcher at the Atlanta VA Medical Center. Her research focuses on health economics, pharmacoepidemiology, real-world evidence, and policy evaluation, with an emphasis on diabetes and cardiometabolic disease.
She applies cost-effectiveness analysis, microsimulation modeling, causal inference, machine learning, and distributional approaches to evaluate the clinical, economic, and equity impacts of health interventions and policies. Her work has examined value-based pricing of diabetes medications, real-world effectiveness of prevention and treatment programs, treatment heterogeneity, and disparities in diabetes care.
Dr. Li has published in journals including JAMA, Diabetes Care, JAMA Network Open, The Lancet Diabetes &
Endocrinology, and JAMIA. She has received awards from the American Diabetes Association, ISPOR, and the PhRMA Foundation. She currently serves as an Advisor for the ADA Public Health & Epidemiology Interest Group Leadership Team and previously cochaired the ISPOR Student Network Event Planning Committee.
