Prachet Bhatt is a doctoral candidate in Pharmaceutical Health Outcomes and Policy at the University of Houston College of Pharmacy and holds a master’s degree in applied economics from the University of Houston. He previously served as a Cost‑Effectiveness Analysis Registry Fellow at the Center for the Evaluation of Value and Risk in Health (CEVR) at Tufts Medicine, where he conducted economic evaluations of emerging treatment strategies for patients with chronic kidney disease. His current research examines how suboptimal drug utilization affects clinical and economic outcomes among individuals with substance use disorders, particularly opioid use disorder. Prachet’s long‑term goal is to integrate economic modeling and patient‑centered outcomes research to design policy interventions that promote equitable health care delivery and measurable public health benefits for patients with chronic conditions. He is a recipient of the 2026 AcademyHealth Alice S. Hersh Student Scholarship.
