Samanyu Manjunath is an undergraduate at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill pursuing a B.S.P.H. in Health Policy and Management and a B.A. in Migration, Displacement, and Diaspora Studies. Samanyu’s work focuses on health equity, Medicaid access, immigrant and refugee health, HIV implementation, LGBTQ+ health, and translating research into policy and community practice. As a policy intern with the Asian & Pacific Islander American Health Forum, Samanyu supports health policy tracking, Medicaid implementation analysis, data-equity work, coalition engagement, and accessible resources for community-based organizations. Samanyu also contributes to health services and implementation research at UNC involving HIV care engagement, longacting treatment delivery, qualitative analysis, and evidence synthesis. Beyond research, Samanyu supports immigrant-serving navigation initiatives and serves as a SHIIP insurance navigator. Samanyu hopes to become a physician-researcher and policy advocate who builds equitable health systems alongside the communities they are intended to serve.
