Dr. Beal is a developmental psychologist and Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, where she serves as the Director of the General Pediatrics Research Fellowship. Her research focuses on the factors that shape the health and well-being of adolescents and young adults, including the effects of maltreatment and interactions with healthcare and child welfare systems. She uses welfare administrative data linked with EHR data to understand the health needs of fostered youth.
