Scott A. Berkowitz, M.D., M.B.A., is Vice President & Chief Medical Officer, NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell and NewYork-Presbyterian Lower Manhattan. In this role, Scott oversees clinical programs, service line strategic growth, advanced practice providers, care management, and patient safety and quality at both hospitals.
Scott is an academic cardiologist with experience in state and federal policy, value-based care delivery models, and strong advocacy for compassionate and equitable care for patients with multiple chronic conditions.
Prior to joining NYP in 2025, Scott served in leadership roles at Johns Hopkins Medicine, including most recently as Chief Population Health Officer and Vice President of Population Health, and President, Johns Hopkins Medicine Alliance for Patients, a care transformation organization. He also served as Associate Professor of Medicine at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
Scott earned his Bachelor of Science, Phi Beta Kappa, Magna cum Laude from Yale College, his medical degree from Yale Medical School, and his Master of Business Administration with an in-depth concentration in Healthcare Management from the Yale School of Management.
