Shaun Forbes is Associate Director, Health Economics and Outcomes Research at Guardant Health, where he leads health economics and real-world evidence (RWE) initiatives to support precision oncology diagnostics. His work includes the development of cost-effectiveness and budget impact models, methodological guidance for RWE generation, and mentorship of junior analysts. Prior to joining Guardant, he held roles in healthcare strategy consulting and academic research, including contributions to COVID-19 policy modeling and value assessment of gene therapies. Shaun earned his PhD in Health Services Research and AM in Biostatistics from Brown University, where his dissertation focused on propagating deep uncertainty (ambiguity) into mathematical models used to aid decision-making. He brings deep expertise in simulation modeling, causal inference, and performance-based reimbursement. He is based in Portland, Oregon.
