Trashaun Powell is a maternal health advocate and community leader dedicated to improving outcomes for birthing people and families. She serves as Senior Director of Healthcare Programs and Strategy at the Society of Family Planning, where she leads national initiatives that advance equitable reproductive and maternal health care. Trashaun’s passion for advocacy is deeply personal: her own experience with preeclampsia fuels her commitment to ensuring families receive the education and support they need.
She is an active volunteer with the Preeclampsia Foundation, championing programs such as Take 10 and MoMMAs Voices, and serves as the Somerset Promise Walk organizer, mobilizing communities to raise awareness and fund research. Drawing on expertise in strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and health equity, Trashaun collaborates with public health partners, legislators, and community-based organizations to create sustainable, people-centered solutions that reduce maternal morbidity and mortality.
