William H. Dow is Professor of Health Policy and Management in the University of California-Berkeley School of Public Health, where he served as Interim Dean in 2018-19 and for many years directed the Health Policy PhD program. He is also a Professor of Demography and directs the UC Berkeley Center on the Economics and Demography of Aging. In addition he is a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research, and previously served as Senior Economist at the White House Council of Economic Advisers. His research analyzes economic aspects of health insurance, health behaviors, and health and demographic outcomes.  Honors include the Kenneth J. Arrow Award given by the International Health Economics Association. He received his Ph.D. in economics from Yale University.
