Dr. William Stigall is Vice President and Chief Research Officer at Cook Children’s Health Care System in Fort Worth, Texas, where he oversees a broad portfolio of pediatric research—from late-phase clinical trials to pre-clinical drug development—focused on bringing practical, patient-centered innovations to children’s healthcare. He also continues to practice as a Pediatric Intensivist.

A graduate of the University of Texas at Austin and UT Southwestern Medical School, Dr. Stigall completed residency, chief residency, and fellowship in pediatric critical care, as well as additional training in pediatric cardiac critical care. He holds a Master’s in Philosophy from the University of Dallas, where he has taught bioethics for over a decade, and maintains faculty appointments at Texas A&M College of Medicine, TCU School of Medicine, and the University of Dallas.

His work centers on building research infrastructure, fostering industry and academic partnerships, and aligning research with clinical care and quality improvement to enhance outcomes. Outside of work, he enjoys travel, sailing, and time outdoors with his wife and three sons.
