Jessica Smith is a postdoctoral research fellow at the Center for Health Outcomes and Policy Research at University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing and a fellow of the Leonard Davis Institute of Health Economics. She received a PhD in Nursing from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and a BSN from Texas Christian University. Her research interests include: (1) how nurse work environment influences hospital staff nurse incivility; (2) how nurse work environment and collective efficacy influence missed nursing care in hospitals; and (3) how nurse characteristics and nurse work environment influence patient outcomes in rural hospitals.
