Thinking Big: Low-Value Care Beyond Choosing Wisely Lists
Despite growing knowledge, defining and measuring low-value care remains challenging. Recently published research highlights opportunity for progress in nonobvious low-value care.
Jose Benuzillo, MA, MS is the Senior Program Evaluation Consultant at Kaiser Permanente Center for Health Research. An epidemiologist with 18 years of experience specialized in data science and quality improvement. Jose’s experience and interests include the integration of advanced analytics into medical decision support and the application of quality improvement principles to identify and reduce waste and improve healthcare quality. He serves on the Advisory Committee of the Research Community on Low-Value Care, hosted by AcademyHealth, the ABIM Foundation, and the Donaghue Foundation.
Jose holds a master’s degree in Public Policy from Brigham Young University and a master’s degree in Epidemiology form the University of Arizona.
