Priya Govil was a Research Assistant at AcademyHealth who supported a variety of Patient-Centered Outcomes Research (PCOR) projects as well as the work of AcademyHealth’s Corporate, Education, and Methods & Data Councils. Priya provided assistance to the ongoing strategic portfolio analysis work conducted in partnership with the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI). She was also involved in helping to support work maintaining PCORI’s Engagement in Health Research Literature Explorer, which involves reviewing the growing body of literature related to patient and stakeholder engagement in health services research. Her work with the Councils also emphasized the importance of collaboration between various interest groups, and it supported the integration of consultative voices that help to guide AcademyHealth’s programmatic work. Priya graduated from Cornell University in May 2019 with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology & Society, concentrating in health policy and inequality studies.
In partnership with NORC at the University of Chicago (NORC), AcademyHealth supports this PCORI-funded project to build the capacity and foster the sustainability of patient and/or community-led organizations whose primary purpose is to enable research that is a priority to their communities.
