Dr. Andrew Potter is an Assistant Professor at California State University Chico, whose teaching focuses on health policy and public administration. Dr. Potter conducts research on older adults’ family caregivers, focusing especially on factors that affect family caregivers’ access to support services. His research agenda also includes other research on long-term services and supports, on rural health, and on primary care for Medicare-Medicaid dual-eligibles. In addition, Dr. Potter contributes to a variety of research studies aiming to improve health and well-being in California’s North State region, and serves as a board member for two local health clinics.
Prior to joining the faculty of CSU Chico, Dr. Potter earned a Ph.D. in Health Services Research at the University of Iowa and worked as a field researcher in the Long Term Care Division of the Service Employees International Union.
