Smith is a post-doctoral research fellow in the Health Services and Outcomes Research for Aging Populations T32 training program at Johns Hopkins University. She is affiliated School of Nursing and the Roger C. Lipitz Center for Integrative Health Care at the Bloomberg School of Public Health. Smith earned her PhD from Rutgers University, School of Nursing, where she was a Jonas Nurse Scholar. Her research interests focus on how structural determinants and policy decisions influence the availability and effectiveness of home health care. Smith's clinical practice, interprofessional education, and personal experiences inform this work. Her goal is to develop a meaningful, actionable research program that informs healthcare policy to improve health outcomes for older adults with complex health and social needs.
