Portia J. Zaire has been a Registered Nurse since 2007. She is currently completing her Ph.D. studies at The Ohio State University College of Nursing where her research focuses on health promotion and equity in medically underserved communities. She received her Master’s in Nursing education from the University of Phoenix and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Cleveland State University. Portia currently works full time at The Ohio State University where she teaches students primary care concepts, builds clinical community partnerships, and develops evidence-based training for community nurses working in medically underserved primary care organizations. She is passionate about care provided in Community Health Centers and has devoted a great deal of her career delivering care and training workers in these centers. She is vested in developing and testing multilevel interventions that influence preventive health outcomes in these communities.
