Dr. James O. Baffoe is a graduate student in the Health Outcomes Division at the University of Texas College of Pharmacy (UTCOP). In his research, he employs community-engaged research principles, applies socio-behavioral theories to pharmacy practice issues, and seeks to understand issues related to cultural and racial safety on health outcomes. He has examined how perceived discrimination in community pharmacies influences individuals’ decision to obtain their medications. His dissertation is focused on understanding how discrimination impacts medication use among people experiencing homelessness. He is a research assistant for a randomized, controlled trial designed to help people experiencing homelessness improve care coordination to enhance health and social needs outcomes. He is the past President of the UTCOP Pharmacy Graduate Student Association. Dr. Baffoe earned his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Cedarville University in Cedarville, OH.
