Taryn Amberson worked as an emergency nurse in Arizona, California, Washington and Hawai’i for nine years before deciding to pursue a Ph.D. in Occupational Health Services Research at the University of Washington in 2022. She is also a board-certified National Healthcare Disaster Professional and works intermittently with the National Disaster Medical System. Her areas of interest include supporting the mental health of the nursing workforce; increasing retention and diversity through inclusive, psychologically safe and supportive work environments; and positively impacting nurse wellbeing through policy.
