Emily is Director of Research Partnerships & Development at MQ Mental Health Research, where she oversees organizational partnerships to ensure they reach greatest impact. She has developed their programme of collaborative project delivery with academics across the globe, third and public sector organisations as well as working closely with philanthropists, foundations and corporates to maximise their support and impact. As someone with lived experience of health conditions, Emily also shares her story openly to challenge stigma and inform research, including in MQ’s recently published book, Your Mental Health [penguin.co.uk], combining the latest research insights with real life experiences.
She is a Trustee of New Philanthropy Capital (NPC) the think tank and consultancy for the charity sector, philanthropists, impact investors, social enterprises, corporates, and the public sector to maximise social impact and, until mid-2022, was Chair of Nightline Association, the umbrella organisation that supports Nightlines, peer-to-peer listening support services, available to 1.6million higher education students across the UK. She currently sits on the Migraine Trust's Involvement Panel, contributing a lived experience perspective to their work, and sits on the Friendship Bench London pilot study.
