This work encompasses US-based research and evaluation studies that seek to strengthen the coordination and efficiency of care to improve outcomes and reduce disparities among people living with HIV and among children with medical complexity. It also includes international research that looks at organizational change and uptake of navigation-style interventions to improve HIV retention in care among underserved and stigmatized populations in South Africa and India. Dr. Steward’s work is supported by National Institutes of Health (NIH), the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), and the California HIV/AIDS Research Program (CHRP).
